Health Department Warns of Door-to-Door Food Salesmen
The Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department has a new warning out Wednesday, and it involves door-to-door sales of food.
The department says they have received numerous complaints from residents about vendors who are selling meat and other food items out of the back of a pickup truck.
Businesses such as Schwan's and Ohio Direct Distributors are permitted and inspected by the health department. However, the department says meat and other food products that are sold from the back of a pickup truck or trunk of a car are often not properly refrigerated.
