Trinity Health System is hosting its "Heartland" event for the 20th straight year today.
The event runs from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday near the fountain area at the Fort Steuben Mall. Included this year is the community blood analysis, which tests participant's blood for more than 30 different screens, including blood sugar, lipid profiles and liver and thyroid function testing.
Several service personnel will be on hand to discuss services and provide screenings in conjunction with the screenings offered by Trinity Health System. The cost of a blood analysis is small compared to the cost of getting one done at a hospital, only running residents $35.
Keith Murdock, Director of Community Relations and Development, excepts around 1500 people to attend.
