A Columbus, Ohio man has been charged in federal court in Wheeling with ''Conspiracy to Possess with the Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine", after authorities said the car he was traveling in was stopped for speeding on Interstate 70.
Authorities said John Allen,III,29 years old, allegedly had approximately six ounces of crack cocaine on him which has a street value of more than $10,000.
If he's convicted Allen could spend between 5 to 40 years in federal prison.
''This was the largest seizure of crack cocaine made by the Mountaineer Highway Interdiction Team since its inception in 2010, and it goes to show how this elite crime-fighting unit continues to have a positive impact upon Northern West Virginia,''said Captain James Merrill of the State Police.
