Davis
& Elkins College's hospitality services is hosting the Highlands Wedding
Expo at the Halliehurst and Graceland mansions from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Feb.
23, the college recently announced.
Clark Evans, event organizer and Graceland
innkeeper said the expo provides attendees an opportunity to get started with
wedding planning.
"It's never too early
to become familiar with not only the exceptional range of services available at
the College, but also the many outstanding businesses that comprise our local
community," Evans said in the news release.
Evans said wedding planning can be difficult, especially if
one just focuses their efforts online, the news release further states.
"It's hard to tell what locations feel like or how certain
arrangements can set the mood," Evans said, noting local business
representatives specializing in areas including flowers and formalwear will be
at the expo to answer questions.
"Attendees will also be able to see first-hand the beautiful
settings available at D&E's historic Graceland and
Halliehurst mansions," Evans said, further adding that the expo will feature
tours of two Victorian homes, which are available for weddings, dinners and
receptions.
"Anyone planning a wedding will benefit from the expo," he
added. "We will have every aspect of the planning process on site."
