Consol Energy said Wednesday it fully supports West Virginia Governor Earl Ray Tomblin's efforts to emphasize the critical importance of consistent communication regarding proper safety measures prior to every shift change.

At Consol Energy, we are convening ''Safety Awareness'' meetings at the beginning of every shift starting Wednesday afternoon and for every shift the remainder of the week.'' said Lynn Seay, Consol spokesperson.

Seay said that have asked their employees to rededicate themselves to company's goal of Absolute Zero and to use the recent incidents to refocus their attention on doing their jobs safely every single day.
