A retired CIA officer, painter and author will be making his way to Steubenville in April.
The Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce held a press conference Wednesday to announce Antonio Mendez as one of their speakers for their concert and lecture series.
Antonio Mendez, whose involvement in the rescue of six hostages from the Canadian embassy in Tehran has been dramatized in the Academy award winning picture Argo, will be speaking at Steubenville High School Auditorium April 9th at 7:30 p.m.
"When we saw that Antonio Mendez was available, we jumped at it because it's very timely because Argo actually just went out On Demand and Blu Ray last night. Also, the Academy Awards is coming up and the film Argo has been nominated for numerous awards," says Chamber of Commerce President Sue Hershey.
Tickets went on sale Wednesday. They are $20 for reserved seats and $15 for general admission. They can be purchased at the Steubenville Herald Star from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. up until 1 p.m. on April 9.
