Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Area, Freezing Rain Expected - WTRF 7 News Sports Weather - Wheeling Steubenville

Freezing rain will be entering the Wheeling area at around 8 a.m. this morning. It will continue up until the noon hour. This afternoon will bring warmer temperatures and rain.

Hazardous conditions are expected.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a winter weather advisory for the entire WTRF viewing area effective from 3 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday.

Ice accumulations of around 1/10 of an inch are expected. Freezing rain will set into the area between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. and will end between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.

Ice is expected to accumulate on local roadways. Drivers are urged to use extreme caution on their morning commute.
