River Beats Bridgeport; Wins Sectional - WTRF 7 News Sports Weather - Wheeling Steubenville

River held off a tough second half surge from Bridgeport to win the division IV sectional co-final at Union Local , 53-49.

The Lady Pilots had a 30-18 lead at the half.

Cassidy McCullough led the Pilots and all scorers with 25 points, freshman Jensen Caretti added 12.

The Dogs where led by Nicole Smolenak with 19 points and MacLaine Murad with 13.

The Pilots will meet Hiland , next Thursday in New Philadelphia in the district semifinal.
