Truck Slams Through New Martinsville Grocery - WTRF 7 News Sports Weather - Wheeling Steubenville

New Martinsville Police Chief Tim Cecil says the driver of a truck hit the gas instead of the brakes and ended up inside Witschey's grocery store.

According to authorities at the scene, the incident occurred about 1:30 p.m. The driver was pulling around from a parking spot to pick up his wife at the front of the store when authorities say, "it just got away from him."

The store was immediately evacuated and no one was hurt.

The vehicle was removed from the storefront and crews are working to board up the wall.
