CHARLOTTE, N.C. -
Hendrick Motorsports
announced that Lowe's will continue to be the primary sponsor of the number 48
Hendrick entry in the Sprint Cup Series.
Lowe's has been the primary sponsor of the number 48 NASCAR Sprint Cup
team and five-time series champion Jimmie Johnson since 2001.
"It has been a great
ride with Jimmie since he started in the Cup Series 12 years ago," said
Tom Lamb, Lowe's chief marketing officer. "We are proud to sponsor one of
the most elite teams and drivers in racing and have a five-time champion carry
the Lowe's brand each week."
In his 400th Sprint
Cup start last week, Johnson won for the 61st time of his career,
taking the checkered flag in the 55th running of the Daytona 500. This week Johnson will run in the Subway
Fresh Fit 500 at Phoenix International Raceway.
Johnson has won five times at Phoenix.
