St.Clairsville High School senior Dan Monteroso, the school's all-time leading scorer, exploded for a career-high 45 points as the St.Clairsville Red Devils defeated Steubenville 76-59 in the Division II Sectional Co-Final at Ohio University Eastern.
The Red Devils, now21-2, advance to the District Final next Thursday at 7 p.m. against Carrollton at OUE.
In other playoff action, Shadyside defeated Barnesville 90-54 at Union Local High School. Adam Stupak scored a career-high 30 points for the Tigers, who will take on River on Tuesday night at 7 in the District Final.
Steubenville Catholic Central's season came to an end with a 69-49 loss to Malvern in New Philadelphia.
Buckeye Trail ousted Monroe Central in the sectional final in Byesville, 70-62. The Warriors will play Garaway next in the districts.
