Wheeling Park High School advanced to the West Virginia State Hockey Championship Game after an 8-2 win over the three-time, defending state champion Wheeling Central Maroon Knights.

Nico Catalano scored four goals and added two assists, and Ian McCardle scored twice for the Patriots.

The Patriots advance to tomorrow's state final against Linsly, a 7-0 winner over John Marshall, in the other semifinal.
