The Wheeling Central team used a 20-0 run to start the third quarter on the way to a 66-27 rout of Valley Fayette Wednesday in Charleston.

The Maroon Knights broke open a two-point game at halftime, outscoring the Greyhounds 42-5 in the second half.

Seniors Colleen McCormick and Emily Bucon each scored 14 points to lead the team.

Wheeling Central will play St. Marys in the Class A semifinals Friday at 9:30 a.m.
