The T.W. Phillips Memorial Library in conjunction with the Bethany College Department of Education will hold a Children's "Seusstacular" Celebration from 1-3 p.m. on March 9.

"Seusstacular" will feature games, skits, read-alouds, raffles and prizes for children, themed around classic Dr. Seuss stories. The celebration is open to the public and will include a brief ceremony to commemorate the grand re-opening of the recently relocated Grace Ryland & William Henry Robinson Children's Library on the main floor of the T.W. Phillips Memorial Library.

Dr. Seuss, or Theodor Seuss Geisel, published 46 children's books throughout his life. His birthday on March 2 has been adopted as the annual date for National Read Across America Day, which is an initiative created by the National Education Association.

The Children's Library, under the guidance of Heather Ricciuti, director of libraries and learning resources since 2009, has evolved from a small collection of children's materials to a fully renovated and redesigned children friendly environment on the main floor of the T.W. Phillips Memorial Library.
The "Seusstacular" event will serve as the official opening of the Children's Library and involve a variety of faculty, staff and student groups.
