St. Patrick's Day weekend is quickly approaching and the Wheeling Police Department wants to make sure you stay safe. More than 700 people across the nation were killed in DUI crashes during St. Patrick's Day weekend from 2006 to 2010, that's according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Wheeling police want to make sure you don't become just another statistic. Here's what they suggest: First, plan a safe way to get home before your celebration begins. Secondly, always designate a sober driver.
If you happen to see a drunk driver, do not hesitate to contact police. Wheeling Police will have extra patrols out this weekend just to ensure everyone's safety.
