FAA: Wheeling - Ohio County Airport to Lose Air Traffic Controllers
WHEELING, W.Va -
The Federal Aviation Administration said it will close 149 air traffic control towers at small airports around the country because of federal budget cuts and the Wheeling-Ohio County airport is on that list.
The agency announced the decision today, a month after it released a preliminary list of facilities that could be closed.
Previously Airport Manager Tom Tominack told 7News that the airport would remain open, even if it lost its air traffic controllers.
