A Charleston law firm known for its work in the energy sector is further expanding legal services to support the needs of oil, gas, mining and natural resources in Denver.

Jackson Kelly has added attorneys Robert D. Comer, Michael T. Jewell, Susan V. Anderson and Steven M. Nagy to its staff to serve companies in the areas of natural resource development and management as it relates to permitting, compliance, operations and the acquisition of mineral interests.

"We are pleased to welcome these new attorneys in the Denver office. In addition to our nationally-recognized Health and Safety practice, Jackson Kelly is very well equipped to provide our clients in the West with services in natural resource permitting, development and compliance," said Laura E. Beverage, managing member of Jackson Kelly's Denver office.

According to a release from Jackson Kelly, the additions to their legal terms will "provide the firm with the capability to address concerns encountered by upstream oil and gas operators and mining companies, including permitting, due diligence, federal access issues, environmental compliance, regulatory and litigation matters." The company says the expansion will strengthen Jackson Kelly's claim to Law Firm of the Year for Mining Law, a title granted by U.S. News and World Report. The firm was also recognized as leader in energy law by Law360.
