Laughter will be abundant when the Davis & Elkins College Department of Fine and Performing Arts presents the French comedy "Boeing Boeing" for two weekends in the Boiler House Theatre.

Shows are scheduled for April 18-20 and 25-27, all at 8 p.m.

The production is the West Virginia premier of the 2008 Tony Award winner of Best Revival of a Play. Guest Director Greg Mach, associate professor of theatre arts at West Virginia Wesleyan College, said he is excited to be back at the Boiler House Theatre for a show he describes as "sexy, very funny, and definitely over the top."

The 1960s French farce adapted for the English-speaking stage features self-styled Parisian lothario Bernard, who has Italian, German and American fiancées, each a beautiful airline hostess and each unaware of the other two.

He keeps "one up, one down and one pending" — until unexpected schedule changes bring all three to Paris and Bernard's apartment at the same time.

Playing the lead of Bernard Lawrence is Owen Peet, a freshman from Greencastle, Pa. Filling the roles of his fiancées are Alyse Prince, a sophomore from Hurricane, W.Va., as Gloria; Sarah Satterwhite, a senior from Farmington, W.Va., as Gabriella; and Bridget Eckhardt, a junior from Silver Spring, Md., as Gretchen. Rounding out the cast are Ashley Collins, a sophomore from Independence, W.Va., as Bernard's housekeeper Bertha, and Michael Good, a junior from Elkins, as Bernard's friend Robert Reed.

Mach said he's very pleased with the cast members, who have "done a great job learning accents, creating ‘shtick', and making these characters people we would love to spend an evening with!"

Tickets are general admission, $7; seniors and students younger than 18, $5; D&E students, faculty and staff, free.

For reservations, call the Fine and Performing Arts office at (304) 637-1212.
