Former Big East Player of the Year Arrested on Heroin Charge

A 32-year-old Wheeling man is behind bars for possession of heroin.

Shortly before 10 a.m. Monday, Wheeling Police found Jarrod Rine intoxicated on the sidewalk near Pizza Hut on National Road. Rine was arrested for posession of a controllled substance - heroin.

Rine was the Big East Baseball Player of the Year while at WVU and played professional baseball with the Baltimore Orioles. He's being held now at the Northern Regional Jail.
