The John Marshall softball team won all four games in the Magnolia High School Tournament over the weekend, including three on Saturday.
On Saturday, the defending Class AAA champions knocked off North Marion 6-1, on the strength of a Hannah Rogerson 3RHR. The Monarchs also defeated Harrison Central 2-1, and took down Point Pleasant 3-2 in the championship game. The Lady Big Blacks rallied for two runs in the last inning, and had runners on first and second during the final out.
Also on Saturday, in Bellaire, St.Johns Central swept a double-header from Bishop Donahue 6-0 and 5-2. Irish ace Hannah Absalom fanned 18 batters in the first game, allowing two hits. She was also the winning pitcher in Game 2, in a 5-2 victory, striking out 4.
Also in Bellaire, the Big Red baseball team split a double-header with Buckeye Local by scores of 2-1, and 8-5.
