Martins Ferry High School senior Damon Outward signed his letter of intent to continue his wrestling career at Wheeling Jesuit University.
Outward signed his letter of intent in the school library with his parents, sister, and assistant coach Chas Yoder looking on.
Outward won a school-record 49 matches as a senior, and finished second at the OVAC Tournament, and fifth in the state tournament. He ended his career as the seventh winningest wrestler in the tradition-rich Martins Ferry program.
Outward is the first local recruit for the newly formed WJU wrestling program, under the direction of head coach Sean Doyle.
