The Junior Varsity Girls' basketball coach at Cameron High School was arrested on Thursday and charged with conspiracy with distribute heroin.

Amanda Allison, 26, was arrested by the Marshall County Drug Task Force after an indictment was handed down on Tuesday. Allison allegedly distributed the drug between January of 2013 to April 6, 2013 in Cameron. She is also charged with three counts of "illegal use of a telephone to facilitate the distribution of heroin," and one count of distribution of oxycodone.

She appeared in court on Thursday for her initial appearance. If convicted, she faces up to 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine.

Marshall County Schools Superintendent, Fred Renzella, said he could not comment on personnel issues, but he said the school plans to cooperate with authorities 100 percent.
