UPDATE

According to Ohio State Highway Patrol, Michael Payton was driving a 2009 Ford F-150 when he went left-of-center and hit a Honda Civic head-on overnight Friday.

Tayor McCain, 19, was driving the Honda Civic and the Ohio State Highway Patrol said she was flown by the Air Evac Lifeteam to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown with non-life threatening injuries

There was also a 15-year-old in the car with McCain. According to the OSHP, they were taken to OVMC, along with Payton. Route 7 was closed for two hours for cleanup, but has since reopened Friday morning.

 


UPDATE

The investigation into a multiple vehicle accident begins Friday morning.

Crews on scene say three people were seriously injured, one of those lifeflighted to Morgantown.

Several departments were on scene including Ohio State Highway Patrol, Shadyside and Powhatan Police Departments.

Authorities in Belmont County are on the scene of a multiple vehicle accident on Route 7 near Powhatan.

According to Ohio State Highway Patrol, many vehicles are involved, including a commercial truck.

OSHP also said there are multiple people trapped inside their cars that authorities are working to rescue.
