Rep. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., will receive the U.S Chamber of Commerce's Spirit of Enterprise Award.

The U.S. Chamber will meet with the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce and local business leaders April 22 to present the award. This is the first time the Spirit of Enterprise Award has been presented outside of Washington, D.C.

Business leaders on hand at Monday's event will include Steve Roberts, president of the West Virginia Chamber; Karen Harbert, president and CEO of the Institute for 21st Century Energy with the U.S. Chamber; Rob Engstorm, senior vie president and national policy director for the U.S. Chamber; and Ron Eidshaug, vice president of congressional and public affairs for the U.S. Chamber.

The press conference and awards ceremony will take place 1:30 Monday at the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce headquarters on Kanawha Boulevard in Charleston.

Capito is receiving the award for her support of the business community and job creators in West Virginia, according to a news release from the U.S. Chamber.
