There are new developments Monday in the murder of Tristan Jackson, who was shot to death in broad daylight Friday in Steubenville.
Lonnie and Korey Smith are both charged with murder and are in the Northern Regional Jail awaiting extradition to Ohio. They were arrested in Weirton along with Hakeem Herbert.
Steubenville Police Chief Bill McAfferty says Herbert is charged with felonious assault as a result of another incident at the 106 Club in Steubenville. Authorities say Jackson was killed and his cousin Jermaine Foots was shot as he ran from the scene. He is in a Pittsburgh Hospital.
During a press conference on Monday to address the recent crimes in Steubenville, FOP president, Lodge 1, Jim Marquis said the city does not have enough staff to address the growing violence in the city. He said the lack of staff has created a safety issue for the city.
