WTRF.com UPDATE:

Murder charges were dismissed on Wednesday against Kory Smith and Lonnie Smith. This dismissal means that the charges have been dropped in Steubenville Muncipal Court, not alltogether. The charges can still be filed at a later date.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The two men charged with murdering a man in Steubenville in broad daylight have decided they want to waive extradition to Ohio.

WTRF was in court with the men as they decided to return to Steubenville to face charges. That means that police can pick-up Kory Smith and Lonnie Smith Jr. who are accused of killing Tristan Jackson. All of the men are from Chicago.

Authorities say Jackson was killed Friday. His cousin Jermaine Foots was shot as he ran from the scene and is in a Pittsburgh Hospital.

Steubenville Police have 7 days to pick up the three men. Until then, they will be behind bars at the West Virginia Regional Jail.
