Regional Science Bowl champions Parkersburg High School are in Washington, D.C., as the West Virginia Regional Science Bowl representatives to DOE's April 25-29 National Science Bowl.

The team captured the regional championship crowns in February in their respective categories in the 2013 West Virginia Regional Science Bowl hosted by the U.S. Department of Energy's National Energy Technology Laboratory in Morgantown.

Team members are Nanda Siva, Ben Kepple, Eric Eisenmann, Ian Collins, and Trent Cheuvront. The team is coached by Lisa Berry.

The team will compete in a divisional team challenge based on a Science Bowl discipline on Saturday, April 27, and in the academic competition on Sunday, April 28.

While at the National Science Bowl, Parkersburg will compete with other regional champions from competitions held across the nation. The winners of this year's national competition for high schools will receive an educational trip to Alaska or Yellowstone National Park, $1,000 for their school science department, a National Science Bowl trophy and individual medals.
