NASCAR Sprint Cup racing continues this
weekend on the sport's biggest stage, 2.66-mile Talladega Superspeedway.
Several changes returned traditional pack racing to Daytona International Speedway in February and should have a similar effect at Talladega.
But four time Sprint Cup Champion Jeff
Gordon isn't sure how the Gen 6 cars will handle the draft. "How is that going to play at Talladega, a wider track, a bigger track, it's kind
of an unknown to us right now. I'm
anxious to get there and see what we have in practice and its interesting to
see how this race unfold", said Gordon.
Talladega has just over 32 degrees of banking in the turns, 16.5 in the tri-oval and 3 degrees on the backstretch. History surrounds Talladega Superspeedway, a track that held its first race in 1969 and a wins list with some of the greatest drivers in the history of the sport. Of the first 87 races run at Talladega, 26 have been won by NASCAR Hall of Famers, including a record 10 by Dale Earnhardt.
