The Wheeling Park boys track team won a 10th consecutive OVAC Track Meet on Saturday at the St.Clairsville track.
Despite just one individual champion--the 4x4 relay team--the Patriots depth was evident. The 4X2 and 4X 8 teams finished second, Austin Farley finished second in both hurdle events, and Chase Bonar was second in the pole vault. The Patriots were the overall champion, as well as the 5A champs with 104.5 points. Cambridge was second with 63.5 points.
Meadowbrook boys won the 4A title, with Linsly winning 3A, and Clay-Battelle taking the combined 2A-A title.
The Morgantown girls won the 5A championship with 143.75 points, followed by Wheeling Park with 121 points.
Martins Ferry was the 4A champion with 93 points, followed by St.Clairsville with 69.5 Alyssa Robinson, a Penn State recruit from St.Clairsville set a new stadium, school and OVAC record in the shot with a throw of 46 feet seven and-a-half inches.
The River girls, led by Cassidy McCollough, won the 3A crown with 61 points, Linsly finishing second with 24.75 points.
St.Johns won the 2A-A title with 66.5 points and two wins by Fallon Doyle in the 800(2:21.06) and 1600(50:07.66). Steubenville Central was second with 53.5 points.
