Two Roane County parents are in big trouble after their three-year-old child nearly falls to her death.
Authorities arrested and charged Lucas and Jamie Taylor with child abuse and neglect resulting in serious bodily injury.
This story unfolded late Thursday night.
EMS received a call that a child had fallen from a second story window on Barrcut Road in Spencer.
When first responders arrived, they found the child on the ground in extreme pain.
The parents said they didn't need an ambulance, but authorities disagreed and transported the girl to the hospital.
During the rescue, authorities stabilized the child's head and neck. They tried to calm the little girl down while they evaluated her injuries.
On Friday, CPS filed a motion to remove four children from the Taylor residence.
Investigators gathered more evidence during their trip back to the house. They observed child-sized fingerprints on the window sill the girl fell from.
Authorities said the parents were negligent in their care for the child, and they did not seem to care about what had happened.
Both parents will be arraigned by a magistrate judge later this morning.
