Marietta, OH -
Jacob and Ryan Hill have made it to the semi-finals of the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association contest to win a wheelchair accessible van, thanks to your votes.
The twins got more than 16,000 votes and out of hundreds of entries, Jacob and Ryan are in a group of about 60 semi-finalists. They were diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy at the age of 2, and were using wheelchairs by the ages of 7 and 8.
The boys' mother Christy, does an amazing job helping them get around, but her 2000 Dodge Ram van isn't very trustworthy, especially to get to the doctor's in Columbus. She uses ATV ramps to get the boys in and out of their current van. Jacob took it upon himself to enter the family in the contest.
Here's what you can do to help now that voting is over. Go to the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association facebook page https://www.facebook.com/NMEDAcom?fref=ts and tell them why Jacob and Ryan Hill are your heroes.
