The Harrison County Sheriff's Department has arrested a private investigator and an attorney representing a former Shinnston police officer.

It arrested Wheeling attorney Paul Harris, and Barbour County private investigator Franklin Streets on multiple charges Friday night.

Harrison County Prosecuting Attorney Joe Shaffer said Harris was hired to represent Kevin Junkins, who was arrested in 2011 on charges of possession, burglary, and embezzlement.

Shaffer said Harris has been charged with conspiracy to commit threats in official and political matters, conspiracy to commit intimidation of a witness, obstruction of an officer, and conspiracy to obstruct an officer.

Streets faces similar charges, including intimidation of a witness, threats in official and political matters, obstruction of an officer, and conspiracy.

Harris and Streets have both posted bond. Both men will be arraigned during a hearing Monday before Judge James Matish.

Harris released this statement regarding his arrest:

"My extensive and successful verdicts in criminal defense cases against the government on all levels speaks for itself. I uphold and practice the highest level of legal ethics and defend my clients aggressively, and for this matter will do the same."
