PADEN CITY, W.Va. -

A Paden City woman is said to be in stable condition after being rescued from her burning home on Friday night.

Police tell WTRF.com that before emergency crews responded, the woman climbed out of a window at her home, and a neighbor rescued her from the porch roof with a ladder.

Police say the house on the 600 block of South 3rd Avenue is a total loss. Several adjacent homes were left with minor property damage.

The homeowner was taken by medical helicopter to the hospital. It's unclear what may have caused the fire.
