Martins Ferry Man Arrested After Picking Up Six Pounds of Pot at Post Office

A Martins Ferry man has been arrested after he allegedly picked up a box filled with 6.54 pounds of marijuana at the Martins Ferry Post Office on Saturday.

Joquin Jabbar Treddle, 32, faces a charge of possession of marijuana after he reportedly picked up the package on a bicycle and began pedaling away and was later pulled over at Monroe and Indiana streets in Martins Ferry.

Postal inspectors had become suspicious of the package when it arrived at the post office, and notified the Belmont County Drug Task Force. A search warrant was issued on the box, and inside authorities discovered the marijuana, which had been shipped from Los Angeles. Authorities then waited on Treddle to retrieve the package.

Treddle is being held in the Belmont County Jail.
