FIRST ON Two Arrested for Allegedly Stealing 200 Lbs. of Copper in Steubenville

Police say two men have been arrested for the theft of more than 200 pounds of copper from the RG Steel mill in Steubenville.

Mingo Junction police received a call around 8 a.m. Thursday about two suspects trying to clean copper and take to the recycling plant.

Mingo Police arrest Robert D Miller Jr., 35, of Follansbee, and Donald R. Keeton, 35, of Charleston, West Virginia.

Upon further investigation, Mingo Police found out the copper was stolen from the old RG Steel mill in Steubenville and now Steubenville police will be filing charges.

Miller and Keeton face charges of theft and possession of criminal tools.

Right now, the car used has been impounded and the joint investigation is ongoing with Mingo Junction Police and Steubenville Police.
