Sgt. LaCava, with the Wheeling Police Department, says one person is in custody and one recovering after an stabbing early Friday morning on South Huron Street on Wheeling Island.
A witness to the stabbing flagged down an officer and initially thought that they had seen two people injured, but after investigating, police determined there was only one victim.
The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries to his leg and temple areas.
Police arrested Bobby Lee Shannon of Wheeling for malicious wounding. Shannon is in the Northern Regional Jail and will be arraigned Friday morning.

According to Wheeling Police the incident happened on South Huron street just around 1 a.m.
Police say they were patrolling along Wheeling Island when someone flagged them down. Police then discovered two people suffering from apparent stab wounds.
Both victims were taken to separate hospitals. Their names and conditions were not immediately known. As of 1:30 a.m., police were still on scene investigating.
Dispatch says there is a possible suspect but no one is in custody at this time.
