The first-ever ''Mount Everest Extreme Endurance Challenge" to take place in Wheeling is set for August 10 and 11.
Ohio County Sheriff's deputies, Wheeling Police officers and U.S. Military officers, together with the Wheeling Fire Department, plan to lay out all the details on the event Wednesday during a press conference.
The challenge will raise money for the Green Beret Foundation and Help for Heroes.
Local law enforcement officers, firefighters and military officers will be taking part in the two-day endurance challenge which consists of two half marathons and a nonstop 24-hour climb and repel to reach above 29,029 ft. That's equivalent to the height of Mount Everest.
A press conference is set Wednesday to release more details on the first of its kind event for this area.
