Sprint Wireless resolves 911 problem in Jefferson County

Posted: Updated:

CHARLES TOWN, WV (AP) — An audio problem with 911 calls in Jefferson County made by Sprint Wireless customers has been resolved.

Customers calling 911 could hear dispatchers. But the dispatchers couldn't hear them.

The Jefferson County Emergency Communications Center said Tuesday that dispatchers and Sprint Wireless customers can communicate again.

But there's an issue with sending the location of a caller to dispatchers. The communications center says the location isn't always sent to the dispatcher.

The company is working to resolve the problem.

Citizens of other wireless carriers weren't affected.
