UPDATE: 18-Year-Old Found Dead of Gunshot Wound in Steubenville

Police found 18-year-old Derrick Williams dead inside of 1124 Claire Avenue in Steubenville from a gunshot wound to the back of his head.

According to police, the shooting happened around 3 a.m. Wednesday morning. Three other people were also inside of the house.  itnesses say two black males were seen running from the area.

An hour later, police responded to 1317 Plum Street in regards to another shooting. Police found 24 shell casings around the house as well as bullet holes in the back of the house.

BCI is on the scene of the first shooting gathering evidence. Both shootings have been turned over to detectives and no one is in custody.




Police have confirmed that one person is dead after an overnight shooting in Steubenville.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department and Steubenville police remain on the scene of the Claire Avenue shooting Wednesday morning. Police say they responded to a number of shots fired calls overnight.

No arrests have been made regarding the shooting.



Authorities in Steubenville are investigating after shots were fired overnight.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, police in Steubenville were called to the scene early Wednesday morning.

Steubenville Police had no comment Wednesday morning.
