    Dominion Resources, Duke Energy and other partners have proposed building a $5 billion natural gas pipeline to connect the Southeast with the prodigious supplies of natural gas being produced in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia.

A firemen sustained a minor injury, but no one else was hurt when a belt caught on fire at a Boone County surface mine early this morning.

U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration Spokeswoman Amy Louviere said no miners were injured and fire had been extinguished. 

Crews from three fire departments responded to Patriot Coal's Hobet Mine. Crews responded at around 1 a.m. Thursday morning. 

Leslie Fitzwater, spokeswoman for the West Virginia Office of Miners Health, Safety and Training, said there was a fire on an overland belt. Miners were not injured, but one firefighter was taken to the hospital to be treated for heat and exhaustion.
