The Columbus police department has closed it's case against Ohio State running back and leading-scorer Carlos Hyde, but that didn't save him from head coach Urban Meyer.
The police closed their case because the alleged female assault victim did not wish to pursue charges for the July 20th incident at a downtown Columbus bar.
Coach Meyer released this statement, Tuesday night.
"Carlos Hyde will be suspended for at least the first three games of the 2013 season for conduct not representative of this football program or this university. He will be required to fulfill additional obligations before he is allowed to play in a game."
Hyde had been suspended from all team activities in the wake of the incident.
