FIRST ON WTRF.COM: Body Pulled from Ohio River in Moundsville

MOUNDSVILLE, W.Va. -

WTRF.COM Update:

Moundsville Police are investigating after a body was found in the Ohio River on Sunday night. Police say a boater discovered the body while they were loading their boat into the river at the Moundsville boat docks. Authorities say the male victim is 31 years old. His name has not been released as of Monday afternoon, and authorities say the death appears to be accidental.

The body was face down in the water behind a gravel pile. Moundsville Police and volunteer fire departments responded and the body has been taken to the coroner's office.

As first reported on 7 News on Fox Ohio Valley at 10, a body was pulled from the Ohio River late Sunday night near the Moundsville Marina.

Police would not confirm or deny this information, but 7 News was told no information is being released until family is notified.
