Guard Found at Morristown Pharmacy Died of Massive Head Trauma, Sheriff Calls Incident a Tragic Accident
More information has been released after the mysterious death of a security guard outside Morristown Pharmacy last week.
On Monday, Belmont County Sheriff Dave Lucas said the coroner's initial findings are telling some, but not all, of the story. The preliminary autopsy found that 42-year-old Wilbur Kirk Junior, known to his friends as Chuck, died of massive head trauma. But, how the McKeen Security guard got that head trauma remains a mystery. Lucas says the full autopsy findings won't be back for eight weeks.
Kirk was found outside the pharmacy at 1 a.m. Thursday, after someone saw him lying there and called 911. He was pronounced dead that same day. The sheriff says there were many rumors surrounding this case, including that Kirk had been shot or beaten in the middle of a hold-up. He says none of it was true. He said at this point, it appears to have been a tragic accident.
