    A long-time West Virginia State University associate professor and former Yellow Jacket football coach has been inducted into his high school's sports hall of fame.

HUNTINGTON, WV -

Mountwest Community & Technical College has hired Harry Faulk as the school's new vice president for academic affairs. 

Faulk will provide leadership for all aspects of academic administration and programming, including the assessment of student learning outcomes, academic program review, curriculum development, academic budgeting, course scheduling, faculty evaluation and development, academic staffing and other related functions. He also will serve as the college's accreditation liaison officer with the North Central Association's Higher Learning Commission.

Originally from western Pennsylvania, Faulk joins Mountwest with many years of experience in higher education. He served as associate provost and professor of music at then-Fairmont State College. 

In 2004, he moved to Pittsburgh, where he served as vice president for academic affairs and dean of faculty at Point Park University. In 2006, Faulk returned to West Virginia to become executive vice president and chief academic officer at New River Community and Technical College. 

He earned a bachelor's and master's degree in music from the University of Rochester Eastman School of Music. His doctor of arts degree in music is from Carnegie Mellon University, and he completed post-doctoral work in higher education administration at West Virginia University.
