The Steubenville Central Crusaders waited all year for another crack at Bellaire.
And they made the most of it.
After a heartbreaking 44-42 loss last season at Harding Stadium, the Crusaders turned the tables this season with a 55-35 win at a steamy Nelson Field.
Central senior running back Ryan Fletcher scored three touchdowns in a span of three minutes of the fourth quarter to break open a back-and forth affair. The Crusaders outscored the Reds 27-0 in the fourth quarter, and scored the game's final 34 points.
The Big Reds built a 35-21 lead, only to see it disappear quickly against an opportunistic Crusaders defense. Bellaire committed five turnovers and allowed a pair of 100-yard rushers. Fletcher ran for 101 yards on nine carries, and Khalil Jones added 118 yards and two touchdowns.
Senior quarterback Brenton Collabella passed for 143 yards, with two TDs and two interceptions.
Bellaire's Spencer Badia threw for 192 yards with two touchdowns and a pick. Junior running back Tyler West scored three touchdowns and gained 99 yards on just six carries.
In other action, Westinghouse blanked Buckeye Local in Yorkville 40-0. Strasburg defeated Conotton Valley 50-12, and Wellsville's Rich Wright wins his debut as head coach in a 31-6 victory over Toronto.
