Dozens gathered Saturday on National Road and were wheeling and dealing for a good cause. Students from Linsly School and other members of the community teamed with the Free Wheelchair Mission.
The Linsly School cross country is known for how far they can go on their legs but today they came together and raised money for those who can't use their legs.
The fun run, put on with help from the Free Wheelchair Mission, started in front of Centertown Fitness in downtown Wheeling and was run while pushing wheelchairs to the Free Wheelchair Mission Office on National Road. The money raised helped purchase wheelchairs for the underprivileged who can't afford proper healthcare.
Once the fun run was complete, the Linsly cross country team and members of the community handed out free lunch on National Road. It cost about $70 to build one of the modified wheelchairs that is sent out to the underprivileged.
