A recent study has identified the metro area of Steubenville and Weirton as number 20 in a list of the "best cities for teachers" to work in, in the northeast.
The study was based off of various criteria including median salary, employment concentration and cost of living. Weirton Mayor George Kondik added that enrollment at schools in the city has been very stable throughout the years.
The study stated that the job market for elementary school teachers is projected to grow 17 percent faster than the national average of occupations. Other cities in Ohio in the top 20 are Youngstown, Dayton, Akron and Lima.
