Brooke High School Football Players Learn Sign Language to Communicate With Fellow Student
In Brooke County, a group of football students are learning a life lesson about helping others.
A fellow student named Mattie has a rare condition that makes it difficult for him to communicate, and the Brooke High School football team decided to step in. Six football players now take time once a week to learn sign language with Mattie.
The boys are happy to help, and they said that Mattie has been a big help to them as well. The team posted their story on Facebook for the MedExpress Excellent Sportsmanship Contest that runs until September 14. The winner will receive funding for their athletic program.
