A West Virginia attorney practicing law in Wheeling will chair a committee of the Ohio State Bar Association.
In a press release, Bar Association President Jonathan Hollingsworth announced Phillip T. Glyptis will chair the Health Care Law Committee during 2013-2014. The OSBA maintains over 30 standing committees, each of which monitors a particular area of law. Committees and sections strive to keep Ohio lawyers informed about the latest court decisions and regulatory changes. They will also comment on bills before the Ohio General Assembly, and draft their own legislative proposals to improve existing laws.
Glyptis earned both his undergraduate degree and his law degree from West Virginia University. He is currently of counsel at Steptoe & Johnson PLLC. Glyptis has defended long-term care facilities against claims for alleged violations and medical negligence. He also has represented physicians and pharmacists in several medical negligence and products liability lawsuits. Glyptis also currently chairs the Medical Liability Substantive Committee for the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia.
