Team member loyalty proves to be a winning formula for national restaurant
COLUMBUS, Ohio, Sept. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- White Castle is honoring 62 new team members from nine states as part of this year's 25-Year Club class. Founder E.W. "Billy" Ingram began the 25-Year Club in 1946 when he celebrated his silver anniversary with the family-owned business.
"The loyalty of our team members is what makes us a successful family-owned business," said CEO Bill Ingram. "In today's day and age, we are fortunate to have 8 percent of our 10,000 active team members with us for 25 years or longer and more than one in four have been with us 10 years or more."
For the past 67 years, including 2013, 1,736 White Castle team members have earned this distinctive honor.
The "Class of 2013" includes 14 team members from Chicago, Ill., and 14 from New York, N.Y., the largest regional contingencies on the list. Seven more work in Columbus, Ohio, six in Cincinnati, four in Louisville, Ky, three in Detroit, Mich., three in Indianapolis, Ind., St. Louis, Miss., Minneapolis, Minn. and the state of New Jersey and one in Dayton, Ohio and Cleveland, Ohio, respectively.
"It's a very proud honor to be inducted into the 25-Year Club," said Lisa Ingram, president of White Castle. "These longstanding team members are the foundation for our growth and are examples of White Castle's values and dedication."
"Our 25-Year Club team members give more than the years of service, they have earned the respect and admiration of everyone at White Castle," Ingram said. "As a family-owned company, we value our team members and the commitment they have made to one another and our business."
White Castle is honoring all 25-Year Club inductees at its annual meeting September 19, 2013 in Columbus, Ohio. The company pays for all incoming members' travel, hotel accommodations and special meals. All inductees receive a tour of the White Castle Home Office and PSB Company facility.
All 62 inductees will be treated to a limousine ride to a banquet celebration where they will receive a 25-Year Club watch from CEO Bill Ingram. This banquet will be attended by local team and active 25-Year Clubs members and company executives.
The team members hold a wide variety of positions, ranging from general managers, area supervisors, crew managers and team members who have remained loyal to White Castle and dedicated to serving customers in the restaurants for the past quarter century.
